Telephone Service
Washington County receives telephone service from AT&T. New connections can be arranged by calling 780-2344 or business service 780-2800. Outside of Florida: Home service 1-800-753-2909; Business service 1-800-753-0115.Water, Sewer and Natural Gas
Within the City of Chipley water, sewer and gas service may be arranged through City Hall at 638-6350. Within the County, you will need a septic tank and well water.Garbage and Trash
Within the City of Chipley trash collection is contracted with Waste Management by the City. Contact City Hall at 638-6350 to arrange pick up. Within the county pick-up is contracted with Waste Management. Residents and businesses can call 800-284-2551 or visit www.wm.com to set up service.Electrical Services

Rescue Services
Washington County utilizes a 911 emergency system. Simply dialing 911 places caller in touch with fire, rescue and police assistance.Homestead Exemption
Florida homeowners are entitled to an ad valorem tax exemption of $25,000 of the assessed valuation if they owned and occupied the home as of December 31st of the prior year. To apply, the owner must present a copy of the recorded deed and three proofs of residence at the Property Appraiser's Office in the County Courthouse in Chipley. Property taxes fall under the Homestead Exemption provision. For home valuations over $25,000, ad valorem property taxes will be levied at a rate of 17.6710. The sales tax rate for the State of Florida is 6%. There are local option sales taxes of 1% and gasoline tax of $0.0600/gallon for road and bridge maintenance.Ad Valorem Rates
